If, like me, you’ve had enough of the cold and wet weather and want to fast-forward straight to spring, head over to Elan cafe now! With it’s pretty pink interiors and floral walls, this is an instagrammer’s heaven. I’ve now been to both branches (Park Lane and Brompton Road) and both are equally pretty but I think the Brompton Road branch has a slight edge and feels a bit more spacious. It is also in an excellent location, close to the South Kensington museums and Knightsbridge’s shopping area, including Harrods a few minutes away.
Elan Cafe offers a variety of food (mostly Mediterranean inspired) and serves breakfast, lunch, coffee/tea and lots of delectable cakes! Click here for the menu.
In terms of food, I’d say Elan is definitely best for its coffee and cakes. I loved the mixed fruit tart and the pistachio and rose cake. In terms of drinks, my flat white was great but my friend ordered the lucky charms latte which I would not recommend unless you want cereal soaked in coffee!I also tried some of the savoury options including the Courgette and Halloumi Fries as well as the Buttermilk Chicken Goujons. The chicken was ok but the halloumi was a bit too salty and greasy for my liking.
I’ve heard mixed reviews of Elan but, for me, I don’t think you can go wrong with the cakes, especially whilst sitting in such an aesthetically pleasing cafe that will look oh so pretty on your insta feeds! It gets very busy so try to avoid the most obviously busy times (lunch/tea) etc – I was there around 4pm and there were a few free seats dotted about so seems like a good time to go!
The Cafe is open from 7:30am (Brompton Rd)/8am (Park Lane) till midnight so you’re sure to find a suitable time to visit at some point in the day!
